Total Eclipse - 13/14 November 2012
Figure 1. Total Eclipse Saros 133-45, 13/14 November 2012
This was Phill’s eighth and Steve’s fifth. We were booked on a cruise on the Dawn Princess off Australia. Unusually, the eclipse path crossed the International Date Line. It is usually quoted as the eclipse of 14 November, but it actually started on 13 November.
This was a beautiful eclipse viewed from the Dawn Princess! The corona was quite symmetrical and compact.
This was the 45th eclipse of Saros 133. Totality lasted 2 minutes 4 seconds from our viewpoint. At third contact we were at 17.19753° 147.1035°E.
